Earlier this week, the lovers over Friends We Love dedicated an entire post to what I’m doing here. They have this super dope concept which I fully support in showcasing artists of all creative mediums on this one site and giving a personal side to each person. Allowing them to tell a story, their story.

Over what has been the majority of a year, I’ve gotten to know and adore this woman. She has been an e-confidant, helping me through some hurdles and pushing me forward when I sometimes felt like I was falling apart. I sincerely consider her a true friend.
She is also the mastermind behind probably one of my top 5 favorite fashion and lifestyle blogs, She Breathes. Everything about the asthetic pulls me in. It’s very timely, photo-focused and simply beautiful. Ms. Shoo (as she goes by hehe) has an eye for some of the most amazing things available and is training my eye and making me a better fashionista (something I seriously never considered myself) every day. Her blog is everything and she recently started another blog that focuses on home decor named Love+Dreams. Equally as luscious. I’ve never really wanted to wear a couch quite so much before, haha.
I strongly suggest you check her out and fall in love. She’s tres cool.

First my quick story:
I went to get my eyes tested finally after my glasses have been broken for 4 months and I was waiting for my health insurance to kick in. I went to my usual doctor because I like her although she is very out of the way. Her assistant seemed kind of pissed that I didn’t have private insurance (that means no $400 frames for me, but I have enough of those already. I wasn’t even interested.)
So the assistant takes me alllllllllllll the way to the back corner of the store to find a new pair of frames.
Assistant: you have to pick a pair of glasses from here (she shows me a tiny section of glasses that are on a spinning display pushed ALL THE WAY to the back, behind the counter)
Me: (squinting because DUH I can’t really see that great) uhm, ok.
Assistant: (starts spinning the display SUPER FAST)
Me: (watching a blur of glasses) Uhm, can you slow down a bit? Can I see these? Can you slow down?
Assistant: (hella impatient) Which? Do you see a pair you like? (I could have sworn she “ughhed” under her breath lmao)
HAHA
This exchange is so funny, because last year when I came in at the exact same time, I ordered glasses that were retail value cheap and she didn’t really like me then either. But the year before that? When I was new? She was pushing $400 and $500 frames down my throat. I got something I liked, for $300 something. She must think I’m a product of my environment, HA!
So I got what I came for and I’m glad it’s covered.
My complaint: just like the LAST time I had this crap insurance, I am really pissed that things a doctor deems as necessary is NOT covered by the insurance. I shouldn’t have to come out of my pocket. That’s what this country FAILS to understand. I shouldn’t have to decide, well, I can’t afford this although my doctor tells me I need this. So I’ll go without because then maybe I won’t be able to pay a bill or buy food or something.
Ahhhhhh!!!
/rant.
Now on to my surprises!
On my way to the doctor, I got an email telling me that the super dope & oh so lovely Lynsey is featuring me today on her blog, Cuteable!!! I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am!

Hello beautiful world!
Welcome to April! This year is really starting to pick up speed. I hope it doesn’t rush by too fast. I won’t be able to post like I would like to because I’m preparing this week for my jewelry soirees going on this weekend. My goal is to make 100 pieces of jewelry and/or hair accessories by Friday. I started yesterday and made 22 I believe. Not bad.

Yesterday I made some really awesome stuff & I’ve ordered my boxes (FINALLY!) and everything is shaping up very well. I’m pleased with the course everything is taking.
Speaking of awesome things, I’m bringing back 10 on the 10s for the first time this year! It may not run every month. I might do it through the summer this year. But just like it was in the past, everything in my shop will be 10% off it’s original price. And this is only on the 10th. All refunds will be made between the 11th and 12th of April, as I work on shipping out all orders. This cannot be combined with any other promotion you may have.

I woke up this morning to some extra cash in the rather thirsty bank account, ha! So there’s the start to what I prayed and declared last night to friends of the start of a GREAT YEAR (now that all the personal drama should have subsided).
Also, I’ve been in this headband kick & I’m off today to go buy some supplies and make some lush stuffs. I’ll be meeting with the lovely Bethany (hopefully!) for tea & chatter & then go get some pieces.
