shop update and trunk show details

Hi yall

Sorry I never made it back. Lame, I know. I was just really busy and never got enough time to sit and draft anything earlier this week.
Well it’s Friday night and day one of my trunk show at Exhale Spa in NYC was really nice. Tomorrow is the second and final day for this trunk show. I just updated and published my shop again so feel free to check it out. For those that can’t make it, I’ll be having a sale all tomorrow simultaneously while I’m out at Exhale. This will run all weekend though.

Everything will be 10% off when you type the code EXHALE at checkout!

That expires Sunday night at midnight EST.

Enjoy!

Goodies for this week + HELLO SUMMER!

Sorry I totally forgot to wish you a happy summer solstice. I stared out of my window til the sun set last night, just to take it all in. And the GLORIOUS sunrise this morning was amazing!
Deep purple and hot pink sky with blues and oranges. Heaven.

This past weekend was the perfect way to usher in the season. Saturday I hung out with some friends on a patio all day and shared an Indian feast together for dinner. It was amazing. Laughing, talking, drinking, more laughing, learning AMAZING things about the anatomy of wildlife haha. Sunday I spent the day home, recouping from my Saturday and enjoying father’s day and my 4 year anniversary with my guy. Perfect weekend.

Now for this week: I’ll be reopening the shop this week! YAY! Summer has arrived and so will A BUNCH of new items in the shop! I’ve been making lots of beaded things, and braided things, and mulit-functional things.

NYC LISTEN UP!
This Friday and Saturday, June 24 and 25, I’ll be having my second trunk show at Exhale Spa in Central Park South. Loads of things will be available, so if you’re in the area do stop by and say hi and make your first summer purchase with L’élephant Rose!

I might be a bit quiet this week since I’m in production mode, but I’ll pop back in with a preview this week! Promise ya! And I’ll be having secret sales on facebook and twitter all weekend long so be quick about that as well.

love love and more love! xo

workin’ on it: new pieces for summer 2010

I’m really into braiding right now.
I’ll be making loads and loads of these all summer long.

Pricing for the necklaces and bracelets will vary by total length.
I’m going to try and make them each in 3 different sizes.

If you’re in NYC (or nearby), these and MANY MORE *new* items will be on sale at my trunk show at Exhale Spa later this month. I really suggest that you come out to see for yourself because I won’t be vending this summer.  I plan on having e-soirees, home jewelry soirees, and trunk shows all summer long. If you’d like to host any of those, email me.

happy monday–

five senses friday

Happy Friday!

lucky cat

Are you happy my blogging has become regular again?
I’m happy.

Lately, I’ve been touching lots of wire and different types of cord to make some fun jewels! Which I’ll start revealing next week some time. Hooray!

Tasting so many fruits. I’m trying hard to be a good snacker, since I’ve never been one to begin with. I don’t have an artificial sweetner sweet tooth (haha). I also don’t like chocolates or anything, and since I started working out (Team 2010 holler – that mainly consists of me, my mom and brother who is already fit) my appetite has become enormous. I always believed that to be a theory since I’ve been active in the past and never been ravenous. But maybe I’m just old now. haha Also the vinegary deliciousness of kombucha.

Hearing so much dope music. And encouraging words from friends (love you guys). Really helping me stayed focused on my end outcome. YAY!

Seeing lots of sunshine and looking to soak in as much vitamin D as possible! Also, rough drafts of fun stuff I won’t be able to talk about for a few more months. hehe

Smelling baked goods in bakeries, because apparently that’s my thing now.

Have an amazing weekend now! And tell me all about it on Monday, ya hear?

end of the week exfoiliation

My first end of the week exfoliation will be this shirt:

exfoiliation

Sorry this photo is so damn bad! :(

As I get older, a certain part of my anatomy refuses to cooperate with the rest of me, hence I’m letting this shirt go. It used to fit really nice, but now it just looks crazy on me. So if you’re busty, don’t even think about it. It’s a size M and accentuates the girls nicely. It is collarless and has string on either side to tie in the back.

I actually had a really great idea. I should try to part with one item roughly every other day. What I’ll do is post it in my weekly exfoliation post and it will be up for grabs. I will start a collection box and if I don’t hear word from anyone wanting to receive the item (you will only pay for shipping if you want it), then it will be donated. That way I’ll have a bunch of stuff to get rid of. Especially since I live on cramped time and have plenty to let go of. If you want something I post, simply state it in the comments and make sure you sign with an email address (that’s not published) and I will contact you to set up shipping.

Some of the items I will sell through this site, but most other times it will be free 99 (plus shipping).

As some of you know, I’m preparing for a trans-Atlantic move this October.
Being more intentional in my owned items is not only a want, but a need as well.
Especially now since I’m leaving a two floor house with garage house I’ve lived in most of my life and moving to a one floor apartment in Europe.

Moving to start my married life, but we’re both clutter bugs.

He’s just a touch neater (read: OCD) about it than I am.

In any case, I’m leaving a comfortable sized room with lots of storage space and still use storage in many other parts of the house. I also own far too many books to carry with me.

That almost sounds like a crime, “far too many books”?

That being said, I’ve been sort of in panic mode since finally hitting the publish button on my intro post about paring down. It has literally been sitting in my drafts since March. How pathetic. And this has been sitting in my drafts since May. WAUW.

Since Monday, I’ve been reading Apartment Therapy (really for ideas for small spaces since we got our first place and I need something non-wedding related to obsess over) and on their Re-Nest blog, I came across the most perfect list.

Top 10 Organizing Tips from Chez Larsson (it’s really 9, but whatever):

  1. Edit, edit edit.
  2. Let it go.
  3. It’s only “stuff”
  4. One in – one out.
  5. Own what you love
  6. Buy storage in bulk.
  7. Corral your clutter.
  8. Rotate your collections
  9. Buy white.

Go read the link to find out more about teach topic. I found it very helpful. I might print it out and post it up while I’m working on this change. It’s hard for me. I’m very sentimental, but to a stupid degree. I know it’s time to let go of my junior high school classwork, but you never know, right?

Re-Nest also has this really awesome post about paring down unwanted belongings. Read that article (it has links to the above mentioned one and others as well) to get you started.

*Just so you know, you can look forward to an exfoliation with at least one item every Thursday from now on.

DON’T FORGET: If I don’t hear word by the time the next exfoliation goes live, it goes in the donate bin.

My absolute FAVORITE SONG right now (and for always me thinks!)  There is absolutely nothing better than being completely drunk on love. Nothing! Oh yes, I love that I mentioned the song to D and he already had it. We’re so alike it’s perfect. But just enough.

Confession: I give up, I’m a total hippie.

Learn to green your life.

I have the most awesomest first apartment with the soon to be hubbers. I am in love with it! Can’t wait to hug our walls and stuff.

I co-hosted our first house guests. They are Brooklyn transplants and I did it virtually. We are so Aquarius. Awesome double date.

Another confession: will it be weird for me + D to not carry our computers around? All this time it’s been like we’re just heads and a little upper body sitting on tables and beds lol. Something I wonder if other people in LDR’s think about. Or just me.

Confession #3: One reason I can’t wait for October (beside becoming a Mrs.) is getting my brows threaded. I’ve stuck to my guns. It’s been maybe 8 months since they’ve been touched! That’s insanity, but persistence. They are growing really nice and thick, but Ive been doing my brows since I was 16, so it’s weird to look at. Especially when I put on makeup because I have somewhere to go. It’ll be just shy of one year when I get them done again. Wow.

My life is about to change for the better really soon. Like hopefully this month!

I’m annoyed I can’t put videos on my blog anymore from youtube. Why? :(

I am REALLY going to miss NY + BK parties. Where people actually DANCE? (Amsterdam, where you at?)

More, for your musical pleasure. Pomplamoose.
