My first end of the week exfoliation will be this shirt:
Sorry this photo is so damn bad!
As I get older, a certain part of my anatomy refuses to cooperate with the rest of me, hence I’m letting this shirt go. It used to fit really nice, but now it just looks crazy on me. So if you’re busty, don’t even think about it. It’s a size M and accentuates the girls nicely. It is collarless and has string on either side to tie in the back.
I actually had a really great idea. I should try to part with one item roughly every other day. What I’ll do is post it in my weekly exfoliation post and it will be up for grabs. I will start a collection box and if I don’t hear word from anyone wanting to receive the item (you will only pay for shipping if you want it), then it will be donated. That way I’ll have a bunch of stuff to get rid of. Especially since I live on cramped time and have plenty to let go of. If you want something I post, simply state it in the comments and make sure you sign with an email address (that’s not published) and I will contact you to set up shipping.
Some of the items I will sell through this site, but most other times it will be free 99 (plus shipping).
As some of you know, I’m preparing for a trans-Atlantic move this October.
Being more intentional in my owned items is not only a want, but a need as well.
Especially now since I’m leaving a two floor house with garage house I’ve lived in most of my life and moving to a one floor apartment in Europe.
Moving to start my married life, but we’re both clutter bugs.
He’s just a touch neater (read: OCD) about it than I am.
In any case, I’m leaving a comfortable sized room with lots of storage space and still use storage in many other parts of the house. I also own far too many books to carry with me.
That almost sounds like a crime, “far too many books”?
That being said, I’ve been sort of in panic mode since finally hitting the publish button on my intro post about paring down. It has literally been sitting in my drafts since March. How pathetic. And this has been sitting in my drafts since May. WAUW.
Since Monday, I’ve been reading Apartment Therapy (really for ideas for small spaces since we got our first place and I need something non-wedding related to obsess over) and on their Re-Nest blog, I came across the most perfect list.
Top 10 Organizing Tips from Chez Larsson (it’s really 9, but whatever):
- Edit, edit edit.
- Let it go.
- It’s only “stuff”
- One in – one out.
- Own what you love
- Buy storage in bulk.
- Corral your clutter.
- Rotate your collections
- Buy white.
Go read the link to find out more about teach topic. I found it very helpful. I might print it out and post it up while I’m working on this change. It’s hard for me. I’m very sentimental, but to a stupid degree. I know it’s time to let go of my junior high school classwork, but you never know, right?
Re-Nest also has this really awesome post about paring down unwanted belongings. Read that article (it has links to the above mentioned one and others as well) to get you started.
*Just so you know, you can look forward to an exfoliation with at least one item every Thursday from now on.
DON’T FORGET: If I don’t hear word by the time the next exfoliation goes live, it goes in the donate bin.
