L’élephant Rose is a collection of handmade jewelry designed by Sherisa de Groot, based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
L’élephant Rose began originally in Brooklyn NY in 2008 and remains an ever-evolving collection of handmade jewelry and accessories for simply amazing women.
Hi, I’m Sherisa and I love making jewelry. My design philosophy is rooted in a celebration of versatility, sustainability and ethnic individuality. I’m mostly influenced by stories from my childhood, nature and femininity. Plus a heavy dose of French romanticism. I give great credit to my ability to daydream and being encouraged to do so from an early age. It helps to keep myself and everything affecting my life fresh.
When I’m not designing, I enjoy traveling, learning about my new surroundings in Amsterdam, reading, listening to amazing music, figuring out ways to make my world greener, eating delicious vegetarian food, and spending time with my husband, Dennis. We are recent newlyweds; we got married on October 10th, 2010! I’m currently working on completing my 29 at 29 list; a list I compiled of 29 projects or accomplishments I’d like to meet before I’m 30. So far, I am happy to report that I am blazing through it!
Launched September of 2008, I blog about my design process and revelations, music, green living, food, fashion and bits of my own life. I update my blog 3 to 5 times a week. I am inspired by many things – creativity, clean design, color, DIY and emotion – and I like to share that with you. Initially, this was a space for my business happenings while I kept my personal life pretty private. Over time, and especially now, the direction of this blog has changed to reflect me and my personality. I hope you find something here you can relate to and join in on the conversation! Some of my regular posts include: the wknd, hello 30, 29 at 29, musica and favorite things.

Yoga, creating, reading and collecting books, learning new things, my husband, blogging & writing, God, family & friends, cooking and eating delicious vegetarian and vegan food, New York City, wood floors, art & photography, home blogs & magazines, sweet babies, cafes, Paris, brunch, herbal tea and pursuing a fully green lifestyle.
